Training of Anesthetists on CCV use

Ongoing training of anaesthetists on the use of Comprehensive Care Ventilators. The ventilators are supplied by Gradian Health Systems.

The machines were purchased by the Ministry of Health by Joint Medical Stores. 109 machines will be installed in 17 hospitals around Uganda including regional referral hospitals.

Fred Bulamba the training director said “These machines were bought to equip the Ugandan health system to fight coronavirus. The initial training is for anaesthesia, but later doctors and nurses on critical care.”

People with severe Coronavirus-19 disease have impaired breathing thus for the need to support their lungs. This will help them take in enough oxygen and remove carbon dioxide.

Currently, in Uganda, there are 175 cases of COVID-19, 68 recoveries and no deaths.
